Free Holiday!

I just received a free holiday. It's a 13D12N all lodging and transport paid trip to Bangkok, Pattaya and Changmai, courtesy of our dear gahment. Yeah. I'm sure many of you above 21 realise that it's actually the progress package everybody's been talking about. But let me be happy. I paid $530 for ticket and lodging and I estimate $170 in transport fees. I then prayed very hard for it to be free. Volia. Gahment answered my prayers.

But does that mean I will vote for them in the upcoming elections?

Bigger question: Do I even need to vote? Usually bedok's a walkover.

I do realise however that recently, many of the mid-20s singaporeans have begin siding with the opposition parties. This is both good and bad. Good because we must show the gahment that yes. We're still not happy with how many things are handled and the only way as our dear old LKY used to put it, is to show them this through the ballot box. Bad because sometimes, just sometimes, the opposition isn't as good as what we think.

Perhaps a middle ground can be reached via the recent Thaksin-Thailand elections. Casting a vote of no-confidence may just as effectively show that (i) we're not happy with you (ii) but we're not so stupid as to blindly vote someone else into parliament just to spite you. That doesn't mean we shouldn't vote for Chiam See Tong. He's nice. But don't take my word for it. Go ask the Potong Pasir residents. The old ones la. i'm sure they'll tell you what they think about the upcoming elections.

But thanks anyway for the $700. It's good to be able to have a free holiday that isn't sponsored by my parents. This saves me more money for buying toys. Ignore that last sentence. Dang.

Question: Is there even a space on the vote marked "No confidence" in the first place?

Or will the ISD come knocking at my door if I write it in myself?

But anyway I also won't get to vote lah. This is such bullshit.
